These pictures were taken during a flyover of the 2007 Cedar River Soccer Association Chillout Tournament at approximately 10:30 AM Saturday, April 14.
The CRSA Chillout is, and has been for several years, the largest single-weekend soccer tournament in Iowa. The 2007 edition featured 205 teams from eight states (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin). The Tuma Soccer Complex in Cedar Rapids, Iowa was configured with five 6v6 fields, ten 8v8 fields, and twelve 11v11 fields for the 2007 Chillout. Approximately 10,000 players, coaches, fans, referees and volunteers attended the tournament during the weekend of April 13-15, 2007.
In the photos below, every one of the 27 fields is being used. Game times are staggered by 40 minutes during the tournament so that approximately half of the games begin and end at the same time. This allows for good traffic flow so that parking is not a problem at the Chillout.
